Gavin was born in Grimsby in 1972 and grew up in North Lincolnshire, Australia and Cambridgeshire. Early experience in local press journalism led to undergraduate study at Nottingham Trent University and FAMU Academy in Prague where he persued twin passions for documentary photography and Eastern Europe.

On graduating in 1997 Gavin moved into editorial photography, travelling extensively throughout the UK, Europe and the USA. Since 2004 Gavin has been based in Bristol and undertakes assignments throughout the south-west and the rest of the UK & Europe.

Gavin is presently working for a wide variety of clients in the press/PR, editorial and advertising fields and is also pursuing local documentary projects.
